Thames

The Thames (pronounced tems) is the large river flowing eastwards through London to the south of Whitechapel, forming the settlement's southern boundary.

Raised sea levels (an effect of the Crash) have caused the Thames to break its banks, flooding much of the city[1]. Boats have hence become an important form of transportation restoring the river to its ancient role as the city's main transport artery[2][3][4].

Several bridges cross the Thames. Some of these seem to have had holes forced through them to allow navigation[5][6].

Fishing the river appears to be an important source of protein[7][8]. This is despite sanitation issues[9].

Landmarks along the Thames include Battersea Power Station, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, London City Hall, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and the Millennium Dome.
